02 Is it a fit?

When a dedicated team is the right software development outsourcing service

A dedicated team fits when you have a product goal but no team to run it, or need a second stream that manages itself.

Signals

  1. A validated idea and a prioritised feature list, with no one to build it.
  2. A roadmap that has outgrown your in-house team.
  3. An established company launching a digital product without a product team.
  4. A research or policy institution running a multi-year website, portal or dashboard programme.
  5. An outgoing vendor to replace, with the product still live.
  6. A move from MVP to version two.
  7. A web platform adding a mobile app as a parallel stream.
  8. An AI feature programme run alongside your normal releases.

03 Team shapes

What's in a dedicated software development team?

The core shape is the Product Squad: a product manager, a designer, two to three developers and QA, working only on your product.

Plans, designs, builds and tests your product, with weekly releases you can review.

₹6–12 lakh a month

Other shapes

  • For an MVP: a product manager, a designer, two developers and QA, within the Product Squad range. The MVP Launch package is the fixed-price route.
  • For scaling a live product: three or more developers, quoted for the roles you need.

04 Who runs what

Who runs the sprints, and what do you decide?

You keep the product decisions, and the squad runs the delivery work around them.

01

The squad's product manager

  • Runs the sprints, the estimates and the release plan.
02

You

  • Sets the priorities, accepts each release and makes the product decisions.
03

Shared

  • The backlog, which you and the squad keep together.

05 Progress

How will you see progress?

Through a release you can try every week, plus a report, a demo and access to the work itself.

  1. 01

    A weekly release

A working version you can open and try, so feedback lands while it is cheap to act on.

  2. 02

    A sprint report

A short written report at the end of each sprint: what shipped, what is next and any risks.

  3. 03

    A demo

A demo of the working build at the end of each sprint, run by the squad's product manager with you.

  4. 04

    Access to the work

Access to the repository, the task board and the team chat from day one, so you see progress as it happens.

06 Starting a team

How to hire a dedicated development team

Five steps take you from a first call to sprint one. They differ from hiring one developer, because a squad is scoped before it starts.

  1. A call

About the product, the roadmap and what the squad should own.

  2. Discovery, or a brief

A Discovery Sprint (₹1.5–3 lakh, 2–3 weeks) if the scope is unclear, or a written brief if it is clear.

  3. A squad proposal

The roles, the monthly cost and the first release plan, in writing.

  4. You approve

    You approve the squad proposal.

  5. Sprint one

The squad starts on the first release in the plan.

07 Scaling and handover

Can the team grow, shrink or hand over?

Yes: add roles as the roadmap grows, scale down or pause on the shared notice term, and take the work in-house with a full handover.

What you get at handoverDraft terms
  1. Source codeIn your repository
  2. Documentation
  3. CredentialsHanded over to your team
  4. A walkthrough sessionFor the people taking it over

How much does a dedicated development team cost per month?
Our range is ₹6–12 lakh a month ($7,000–14,000), depending on team size and seniority.
Who runs the sprints, and who sets priorities?
The squad's product manager runs the sprints and the release plan. You set the priorities and accept each release.

Yes. The squad can share your repository, task board and releases with your own engineers.
How do you ensure quality?
Every release is tested by the squad's QA before it ships. Another engineer reviews every change before it merges, and automated tests run on each build.
Can I scale the team up or down?
Yes: you can add roles as the roadmap grows. You can scale down or pause on 30 days' notice.
Can you take over from our current vendor?
Yes. We start with a code audit before the first sprint, so we know what we are taking on.
What happens if we bring development in-house later?
You get a full handover, so your own team can take the work over. What it includes is listed under scaling and handover above.
