01 Performance and growth marketing

A performance marketing agency measured in leads and sign-ups, not clicks

Tailwebs is a performance marketing agency for digital products: we run paid search and social ads, app install campaigns, landing pages and conversion fixes, all tracked to leads, sign-ups or purchases. Because the same team builds websites and apps, we can change the page or the product, not just the ad. Ad spend is billed at cost.

02 The experimentation loop

How do you improve results week to week?

We fix measurement first, then test one change at a time and move spend each week to what works. The page and the product are in scope, not just the ad.

  1. Fix measurement

Conversion tracking for forms, calls, WhatsApp, bookings and sign-ups, before spend goes up.

For example A high-ticket service counts calls and form leads separately, so its cost per lead is real.

  2. Hypothesise

One change to an ad, an audience, a landing page or a sign-up step, written down with the result we expect.

For example A consumer app bets that a shorter sign-up turns more installs into accounts.

  3. Test

The change runs against what is live until the numbers are clear enough to call.

For example A small budget tests a UK or US market before a full launch there.

  4. Double down or drop

What works gets more budget; what doesn't stops. Spend moves every week.

For example A message to users who signed up but never came back stays only if it brings them back.

Then back to step 2, with the next change

03 Channels

Performance marketing ads: which channel fits your goal?

We start with the result you pay for, a lead, an install, a sign-up or a sale, and pick the one or two channels that buy it most cheaply, then add more only when tracking shows room.

04 After the click

What we change after the click

Most of the cost per result is decided after the click, so the same team that builds websites and apps changes the page and the product.

The landing page
Matched to the ad's promise, with fewer form fields and a clearer price or next step.
Speed on mobile
A page that loads before the visitor gives up.
Sign-up and onboarding
The step where people drop off in an app's sign-up or first run.
The store listing
Screenshots and first lines that turn a store visit into an install.
Re-engagement
Messages for users who signed up but never came back.

06 Time to impact

How long before campaigns pay off?

Campaigns need a learning period before results settle, and how long it lasts depends on budget, tracking and the offer. We agree the first review point with you before launch.

What slows it
  • Gaps in tracking
  • A budget too small to learn from
  • Long sales cycles

08 FAQ

Questions about performance marketing.

How much do performance marketing services cost?
Ad spend is separate, billed at cost and paid from your own ad accounts where possible. Our fee is a monthly management fee or retainer, agreed in the proposal.
Is there a minimum ad budget?
We agree a minimum monthly spend with you when we scope the work, based on what the campaigns need to learn from. If your budget is too small for that, we will say so before you commit.
Who owns the ad accounts and data?
You do. Campaigns run in your own ad and analytics accounts where possible, and we work in them with your permission.
How long before campaigns show results?
Campaigns need a learning period before results settle. We agree the first review point with you before launch, and the report shows progress against it.
What should I look for in performance marketing companies?
Look for tracking fixed before any spend, ad accounts in your own name, a weekly log of what was tested and a report in leads or sign-ups rather than clicks.
What does a growth marketing agency do beyond running ads?
It works on the whole path from ad to retained user, including landing pages, sign-up and onboarding steps and re-engagement, which our team changes directly because it also builds the sites and apps.
