Logistics software development company: delivery, driver and tracking apps

Tailwebs is a logistics software development company for last-mile, delivery, freight and warehousing businesses. We built the ordering and delivery ecosystem for Mr Delivery in Austin, Texas, later acquired by Delivery.com in July 2019, and a courier app for Mimsha. We also build driver apps, shipment tracking, load-booking platforms and dashboards. The MVP Launch package is ₹8–25 lakh.

02 By segment

Logistics software development by segment

The systems we build for each part of logistics. Most businesses sit in two at once.

Last mile and delivery
Ordering and delivery apps, route lists, cash-on-delivery collection, returns, and proof of delivery by OTP, photo or signature. We built the ordering and delivery ecosystem for Mr Delivery, and a peer-to-peer courier app for Mimsha.
Freight and brokerage
A marketplace where shippers post loads and transporters bid, with transporter onboarding and document checks. Built as custom software development.
Fleet and trucking
A driver app with trip assignment, navigation, proof-of-delivery photos and expense capture. Built through mobile app development.
Warehousing
Inbound, picking and dispatch with barcode scanning on handheld Android devices.
Shippers and supply-chain teams
A customer tracking page with notifications; an operations dashboard for on-time performance, exceptions and costs, through dashboard development; a WhatsApp “where is my shipment?” assistant, through AI chatbot development; and e-way bill and invoice automation, through AI automation.
What changes for you
  • Every shipment visible. Live status, arrival times and exceptions for operations teams and customers.

  • Drivers who can use the app. Simple flows, offline mode, local languages and photo proof of delivery.

  • Less paperwork. E-way bills, PODs and invoices generated and stored digitally.

  • Better use of capacity. Load matching, bidding and route views that reduce empty runs.

03 Logistics work

Have you built logistics software before?

Yes. We built the ordering and delivery ecosystem for Mr Delivery, a US company in Austin, Texas, later acquired by Delivery.com in July 2019, and a mobile app for Mimsha, a peer-to-peer courier service.

04 The shipment lifecycle

Can we see every shipment and cut the paperwork?

Yes, when every step is an event the driver app records. Visibility breaks where updates depend on phone calls, so each step below writes to the shipment record, and the customer is told at each one.

  1. Booking

    Customer is told

Booking confirmed, with a tracking link.

  2. E-way bill from the record

    Customer is told

The e-way bill number, where the rules require one.

  3. Trip assigned

    Customer is told

    Vehicle and driver details.

  4. Live location and status

    Customer is told

Live position and an updated arrival time.

  5. Proof of delivery

    Customer is told

    Delivered, with the proof attached.

  6. Invoice

    Customer is told

The invoice, and the e-invoice where it applies to you.

  7. Reconciliation

05 Rules and systems

Do you know the government systems my documents run through?

We plan for them. Tax documents, national logistics platforms, aggregator rules and data on drivers each have their own rules and systems; your adviser confirms what applies to your business.

Knowledge, not certification · not legal advice

  • Tax documents

  • National platforms

    • The National Logistics Policy and the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), at goulip.in.
    • The ONDC logistics network, at ondc.org.
  • Aggregators

    • The Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, for aggregator platforms, at morth.gov.in.
  • Data and tolls

    • The DPDP Act, for driver location and customer data, at meity.gov.in.
    • FASTag data, where relevant, through IHMCL at ihmcl.co.in.

06 Integrations

Integrations: ERP, TMS, GPS and payments

Each integration is agreed in discovery and checked against what the other system's API actually supports.

Systems a logistics platform connects to
  • ERP, TMS and WMS
  • GPS and telematics devices
  • Maps and route APIs
  • Payment gateways and COD reconciliation
  • Barcode scanning
  • SMS gateways for customer updates

07 FAQ

Questions about logistics app development.

How much does logistics app development cost?
Our draft ranges: the MVP Launch package, for an MVP such as a driver app with tracking, is ₹8–25 lakh, and a multi-sided freight marketplace sits in the complex-platform band of ₹30–80 lakh or more. Every package is on pricing.
Can the driver app work without a network?
Yes, it stores trip updates, photos and signatures offline and syncs when the phone reconnects.
Can you integrate e-way bills and GST e-invoicing?
Yes, through the government APIs or your GST Suvidha Provider: we generate the documents from the shipment record, so nobody retypes them. Check the current rules at ewaybillgst.gov.in and einvoice1.gst.gov.in.
Can you build live tracking for our customers?
Yes, customers get a tracking link and WhatsApp or SMS updates from the driver app’s location and status events.
How long does a logistics MVP take?
Typically 8–14 weeks for one core flow, such as trip assignment to proof of delivery.
How do you handle driver location data?
We collect location only during trips, explain it on the consent screen and limit who can see it. What the consent screen must say is set by the DPDP Act and Rules, at meity.gov.in.
Are you a delivery app development company for last-mile businesses?
Yes. We built the ordering and delivery ecosystem for Mr Delivery in Austin, Texas, and a courier app for Mimsha. We build delivery apps with route lists, COD collection, returns and proof of delivery by OTP, photo or signature, plus a tracking page for the end customer.
Can the software integrate with our ERP, TMS or GPS devices?
Yes, through their APIs or data exports, after we check in discovery what each system supports.
