01 Healthcare
A healthcare app development company for clinics, physician groups and health-tech teams
Tailwebs is a healthcare app development company building apps for clinics, physician groups and health-tech startups. We built the credentialing, document compliance and timesheets web app for Metropolitan Anesthesia Consultants in the US, cutting manual effort by 80%. We plan for health-data rules from the start: HIPAA in the US, and the DPDP Act and ABDM standards in India.

03 Healthcare work
Have you built healthcare software before?
Yes. We built the web app that Metropolitan Anesthesia Consultants, a US healthcare client, uses for contractor credentialing, document compliance and timesheets; their whole manual process moved to it, with 80% less manual effort. For Med Office Direct, in the US, we built a medical-supplies store and a healthcare portal end to end.

04 Mobile requirements
Healthcare mobile app development: what patients and clinicians need
More than a general consumer app: older users and carers, shared devices on a ward, weak networks and app-store health rules all change what gets built.
Native iPhone and iPad builds are covered on iOS app development.
- Patients
- Large text and simple flows for older users and carers. Booking, reminders and payments. Records and reports pulled with the patient’s consent, through ABHA in India. Teleconsultation video that degrades gracefully on a weak network. Local languages.
- Clinicians and staff
- Fast sign-in with role-based access. Session timeouts on shared devices. Offline case notes that sync when the device is back online. No patient data left in notifications or on the lock screen.
- App stores
- Both stores have their own policies for apps that handle health data, and each reviews a health app against them. We plan for both before submission, not after a rejection. The current rules are in Google Play's Developer Policy Center and Apple's App Review Guidelines.
05 Health data, by market
Do you understand the health-data rules where we operate?
Yes: this map is how we plan for the US, India and the UK, and for the records your app exchanges. Your compliance lead confirms what applies before build.
Knowledge, not certification · not legal advice
US
Shapes access controls, audit logs, who may handle patient data on your behalf and what happens after a breach.
- HIPAA: the current Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules are on hhs.gov/hipaa.
- We never describe an app as HIPAA certified.
India
Shapes consent, how health records are linked and shared, how consultations run, and when software counts as a medical device.
- India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and its Rules: the current text is on meity.gov.in.
- The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM): ABHA IDs, the health facility registry and the health information exchange, on abdm.gov.in.
- The Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, on mohfw.gov.in.
- Medical device rules: cdsco.gov.in sets out when software counts as a medical device.
UK
Shapes the security evidence, clinical safety records and digital assessment that NHS buyers ask for.
- The NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, on dsptoolkit.nhs.uk.
- The Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC), from NHS England.
- The DCB0129 and DCB0160 clinical safety standards, in NHS England’s clinical safety guidance.
- UK GDPR, with guidance on ico.org.uk.
Across all three
Shapes how your app exchanges records with EHR, lab and practice-management systems.
- HL7 FHIR, the standard for exchanging health records, on hl7.org/fhir.
Knowledge, not certification
Your compliance lead decides which rules apply and signs off; we build to their requirements and document how the product meets them.

06 How we’d start
What is the first step, and what does it cost?
A discovery sprint or clickable prototype comes first, with no patient data involved. Then a data-flow map agreed with your compliance lead. Then the MVP.
- Step 1
Discovery sprint or prototype
The core flow as a clickable prototype, tested with users before any patient data is touched.

- Step 2
MVP
One core flow, built after the data-flow map is agreed with your compliance lead.
₹8–25 lakh
$10,000–30,000
8–14 weeks
- When it grows
Complex platform
Heavy compliance work and integrations, built and released in stages.
