02 The working day

When will we actually overlap in the working day?

Every UK morning. India is 5.5 hours ahead of the UK in winter (GMT) and 4.5 hours ahead in summer (BST), so 09:00 in London is 14:30 or 13:30 in Bengaluru, and your morning runs alongside our afternoon.

In writing, before work starts: a mutual NDA, then a master services agreement and a written proposal, then invoices in GBP or USD by bank transfer.

06 Your data

UK GDPR when your team is in India

Plainly, and before any personal data moves. What follows is general knowledge, not legal advice: your own adviser confirms what applies to your product, and we build to it.

01

Who is responsible for what

  • Your adviser confirms who is the controller and who is the processor, and the contract sets out what we may do with personal data. The ICO's UK GDPR guidance explains the roles.
02

Sending personal data to India

  • Sending UK personal data to India is an international transfer, and the UK has rules for it: see the ICO's guidance on international transfers.
  • Before any UK personal data is handled in India, we agree the transfer arrangement with you in the contract.
03

What we do

  • A data processing agreement is available.
  • Production stays in cloud accounts you own where possible, which reduces what leaves the UK.
